12th Social Entrepreneurship Forum - EU Support Drives Systematic Development in the Social Entrepreneurship Ecosystem

With the support of the European Union, Social Enterprise Alliance (SEA) organized the 12th Social Entrepreneurship Forum at Stamba Hotel on November 8.

The Social Entrepreneurship Forum's primary objective is to promote the idea of social entrepreneurship and disseminate information about the sector. This platform serves as an avenue to establish and reinforce partnerships between social entrepreneurs and representatives from diverse sectors.

More than 120 representatives from the public, private, and nonprofit sectors came together at the 12th Social Entrepreneurship Forum. The event featured a variety of discussions and formats. It allowed key players in the field to engage in panel discussions about the social entrepreneurship ecosystem. Simultaneously, all participants actively contributed to a collaborative effort through their involvement in focused working groups.

Attendees were privileged to listen to keynote speeches, addressing the topic of artificial intelligence and its application in enhancing work efficiency.

The forum's highlight was the announcement of the "Social Enterprise of the Year 2023." After careful consideration by a seven-member jury, the finalists, namely "Free Space", "Edena" and "Ikorta"

The social enterprise "Ikorta" earned the prestigious title of Social Enterprise of the Year 2023, determined through a confidential voting process during the event. As part of this recognition, they received financial support to further develop the enterprise.

The social entrepreneurship forum was held within the framework of the ongoing project “Advancing Social Entrepreneurship for Sustainable and Inclusive Society”, supported by the European Union. The European Union has been playing an instrumental role in advancing the Social Entrepreneurship Forum and, more broadly,   the field of social entrepreneurship in Georgia, thereby making a substantial and enduring contribution to its further development.

The Social Entrepreneurship Forum has served as a significant annual event since 2012, and since 2017, it has been the platform for revealing the ‘’Social Enterprise of the Year."

The forum was held in framework of the project “Advancing Social Entrepreneurship for Sustainable and Inclusive Society” implemented by the Center for Strategic Research and Development of Georgia (CSRDG), with the support of the European Union and the Bread for the World. The project partners are: Social Enterprise Alliance (SEA), Civil Society Institute (CSI), European Venture Philanthropy Association (EVPA), Georgian Civil Development Association (GCDA), Democratic Development Union of Georgia (DDUG), the LEPL Youth Agency as an associated partner.
