The social enterprise “Komli” was officially opened in the Kaspi municipality

On July 15, the Komli co-creation space was opened in the Kaspi municipality with the support of the European Union and the Center for Strategic Research and Development of Georgia (CSRDG).

The community center and social enterprise “Komli” is a co-creation space for local community members, researchers, artists, and organizations.

The co-creation space is based on the idea of empathy. It offers a space for thinking, observation, research, working, and co-creating new knowledge.

In the current social environment, which becomes increasingly individualistic, a co-creation space offers an opportunity for transforming individual-focused care into a collective one and reshaping human-centered care into environment-centered one.

Co-creation space represents an alive and dynamic entity, which aims to create, in partnership with locals and guests, a framework-free learning practice. Moreover, it offers various services to the local community that might have less access to learning opportunities. In this co-creation space, guests share the principle of “together within a community”, which means sharing information about their working experience, career achievements, and life discoveries with the local community members.

Considering this, the co-creation space is open for the members of the local community, young people, researchers, artists, and organizations that are willing to utilize it for meetings, consultations, and putting their ideas into practice.

The main principle of Komli is cooperation. This is why, Komli is going to be the platform for all actors, which will ultimately enhance the chances of establishing stronger civil society instruments for the sustainable development of the local community.

On July 15, the opening ceremony of Komli was held at the Komli space in Kaspi, Georgia. The event was attended by the local population, members of various non-governmental organizations, and the supporters of Komli. The guests could take a look at the enterprise and listen to history from establishing to opening the Komli community center.

In parallel with the opening ceremony, Komli space has been hosting the youth camp. At the opening event, the camp members presented a small performance.

“It is over two years since our co-creation center “Komli” has been functioning in the Kaspi municipality. Within this period, we could reach about 1000 people, organize meetings in all administrative entities of the Kaspi municipality, host two youth camps, and retrain community mentors, who work for supporting and guiding youth-led initiatives. It is just a short list of achievements, which we could fulfill. Our main goal is to plan and implement activities, which would include our community members and consider their necessities and interests. In the succeeding months and years, we promise even more large-scale and interesting projects for the youth and not only.” - says the Komli Executive Director Mariam Gogava.

The community center and social enterprise “Komli” is created with the financial support of the European Union within the framework of the project “Developing Social Enterprise for Sustainable and Inclusive Society”, which is implemented by the Center for Strategic Research and Development of Georgia (CSRDG) together with its partners.
